The cage is now complete, I am more than happy with how it all turned out.

For the time being I am not doing door bars since the car is still seeing quite a few street miles.

    Finishing up some Welds

The car is now in for paint and some minor body work. I am not looking to have show car quality paint job, trying to keep cost down as much as possible so that money can be better spent elsewhere.

    Pics to come soon!

Swapped the front subframe out for an 05 STi.
Stock steering rack bushings were not going to cut it so those were swapped out for whiteline.

While we were swapping the front subframe I went ahead and did front control arm bushings.
Turn in Concepts FCAR bushings into the rear and have a set of whiteline front inner bushings to go into the front. (Sorry no pics)

Also did the free caster mod woot.

With the sti subframe and steering rack into the car it was time to button up the front suspension.
Whiteline roll center kit was the next step

ARP Wheel studs were a must

For the time being some stock sti struts and top hats will go on the car to roll this bad boy around.

Almost forgot the most important part, the beer!

Sierra Nevada has helped out quite a bit so far on this build

Worked on the interior a little bit...

For some reason the cage looks orange in pics, its flat red!

A little art project to clean up the interior...

    Installed.

    Pedals in!

    All of the work!

Cutting up the dash was fun.

Overall fitment is good and did not have to cut it up too much.

Looking great man, I'm envy your path projections for this build and look forward to checking in on this build. I hope to start something like this in the next couple of years myself.

When's the first race for this lil guy?

    Cheers!

Awesome build. Love seeing a car getting torn down to bare metal.

So on a scale from 1-10, how hard was it to bend the DOM tubing by hand? What diameter or racing regs are you building it to? Only asking because I plan on caging my E30 this winter.

Bending the DOM by hand was a 5 if you are in good shape this is not all that bad. Doing it correctly is the hard part. My cage builder had just done a cage in his RS so he had all the measurements needed.

    Brake lines and such!

Started working on getting my brake lines ran this weekend. I am running the stock RS master cylinder and booster with the STi ABS system.

I sure hope I don't have to use too much of this!

O and to set the project back a little bit I picked up another project (flip a LGT) will be for sale soon, I hope!
