Well its been awhile since ive posted new goodies. Its that time again. Wired my amp to power my sub with 2 channels at a lower rms output per channel and decided just to buy a new head unit to power my door speakers so i wasnt running everything off my amp. Did not install capacitor yet. I bought a kenwood exceleon deck with 200 wattsx4. Pretty sweet definetly better then i remember getting a few years ago for same price. Well i ordered some more mods so ill post pics when there all installed.

    1. Walbro 255l fuel pump.

    2. Grimmspeed catless uppipe.

    3. Sti pink 560cc injectors.

    4. RokBlokz rally Red mud flaps. im trying to post pics but everytime i hit upload it just gives me a red exlamation mark and no picture.....these were only 70 bucks and look pretty bada$$

The heat shield isn't there to prevent heat soak. It's there to keep heat in the turbo. Still not a big deal I don't think just something to consider.

It serves both purposes. Simply put, it keeps heat where it needs to be, and out of where it shouldn't be.

Also helps prevent engine fires in the event of a fluid leak..

Quick question, I have an '02 bugeye and am going to be ordering a JDM STi bugeye scoop soon. Am I going to need a new splitter as well or will my stock one work? I am going for looks for the most part but to make use of that extra air from the enlarged scoop would be nice.

Link to the scoop I'm looking at : J-Spec Tuning

2002 wrx bugeye build! First build.

Your stock splitter will fit just fine, but as you said, the matching JDM STI splitter will maximize the larger scoop's potential.

Ugh, another wrench in my plans. I'm assuming the JDM splitters are hard to come by. Let the research begin!

I bought a USDM splitter for mine. I did have to mod it to work though. Nothing very hard.

Why do you need the JDM scoop?

I don't need, but I want. I like the look of the bigger JDM STi scoop but don't want an '04/'05 style that doesn't fit bugeyes. I'm also hoping it will suck in more air so I can pretend my money spent on aesthetics is also functional and justified.
