I would categorize this as an "if you have to ask" situation. If you have to ask, you don't need an intercooler. In general if you don't have a substantially larger turbo than stock, you don't need an intercooler. If you do need an intercooler, I'd suggest the simplest solution possible -- stay TMIC unless absolutely necessary, and only then go FMIC.
If curious, run a search for "best TMIC" and see what brand names pop up. You want to minimize the "fitting" work needed (zero is ideal).

What if i were to eventually get a upgraded turbo? would the intercooler help intercooler help increase hp alone?
Depending on just how big the new turbo is, yes. I'd just do everything if/when the turbo is upgraded though. There are other places to get power before the IC needs any attention.

Not without remapping the ECU to account for the better cooling provided.Originally Posted by rgillen1028

A more efficient intercooler will allow you to tune the car more aggressively, so even with the stock turbo you will be able to get a little more out of the tune with a good intercooler. Without a custom tune you will see very little gains from upgrading the intercooler.
I would also recommend the Process West. The old school Spearco is very good as well.. and the cheapest one I would consider worthwhile is the TurboXS TMIC.
Process west is the best . Fast Motorsports makes a decent TMIC for around 350.
What year/model is your car?

No unused TMIC for $350 is decent. FMS is no exception...Originally Posted by puckthefackers
