I'm not saying that it's not possible, but I was under the impression that when the ECU resorts to failsafe OL tables, the boost is also pulled and the car should be running wastegate pressure. Then again, I know nearly nothing about the new CANbus ECUs, so hopefully Heide will make his way in here.
    10:1 is rich, not lean

The cars will resort to a failsafe fueling & timing map if needed... I'd assume they run pretty rich stock. I think I normally set them the same, to be honest. I will start setting them to be a bit richer eventually, as it is a good idea.

...And yup... a lot of things tell the ECU to run wastegate boost. Overboost being the main culprit. I believe running your solenoid above 100% is another quick & easy way. I bet most CELs that aren't emissions related cause boost cuts.

Maus, sounds like you hit the nail on the head with the coolant issue. I'm not familiar with every CEL that causes the car to go to limp mode... but that could have been your issue. I'd take it easy for a few days and make sure everything is good to go under normal driving.

I've since driven the car a few hundred miles and no problem, no loss of coolant. Things seem good.

Bo, header will be here on Thursday thanks.

Cool. And again, stop worrying about heat sink issues with the intake. You are being a woman and it'll be fine. It's aluminum. It's pulling in air from lower than the stock intake. Just be prepared for the (rather significant) MAF scaling with that bugger.

If you are scared of heat sink ill cerakote the intake tube too. Don't be a sissy.. You need an intake on a 3G at stage 2 levels

When's the last time aluminum has created heat sink issues? I use it in the oven so I don't even need gloves to pull my pizza/sammich out after I cook it.

...If his intake isn't aluminum, my point is mute. In all fairness though, it probably has less thermal mass than the plastic the stock intake is made of.

    UPDATE

Bought some new wheels because my stock tires are closed to shot. Work CR Ultimates 17x9 +38

    Still need to order tires.

On another note while changing my oil this weekend I noticed that there was all sorts of nasty **** spewed on to the front driver wheel, back of the brake caliper, axle, and parts of the frame. Looks like a ****ed up CV boot. Car will be going into the dealer this week, I hope the warranty it as I don't think you can change just the CV boot.
