The tune left both Hill at Agile Auto and myself a little puzzled. From the dyno tune Hill was only able to extract 285 whp and 255wtq from the car. After backing off the tune to allow for a safety margin, my final numbers are 275whp and 250wtq. This is on a Dynapack which does read high. While Hill admits that cars today were dynoing low due to the 95 degree heat in the shop and the near-100% humidity, he is puzzled as to why the car isn't putting out closer to 300whp. He claims to expect 18G 2L to put down approx. 305whp in the summer and 315-320whp in the winter. This may be due to my own stupidity as (in a moment of thoughtlessness) I added Seafoam to my gasoline last week in an attempt to "clean" the new injectors. I used approx. 1/2 of a tank of gas before my tune before filling up to dilute the concentration of Seafoam. Hill admits that he has no idea what effect Seafoam has on the flash-point of Gasoline. The car has no issues with making boost, as I was tuned at 21 PSI.

I am not a numbers guy, and in all honesty am not disappointed by 275whp, even if that number does not change. However, I had some issues upon leaving the shop during my commute home. I found that in some circumstances, my car would SERIOUSLY over-boost. Accessport read my car hitting 24 PSI at one point, which I conclude is absolutely dangerous for the motor. At other times, my car would struggle to hit 18 PSI. It seems as though the boost control is not correct. I am currently in discussion with Hill regarding this issue.

    Interesting.

Good numbers, but yeah you should be able to pull more power obviously. You positive the overboosting is happening and not a false reading by the AP or not? Do you have a boost gauge (I forget)?

Hope it works out for you though dude...don't want you to end up hating your car

Yeah registered on my boost gauge and AP.

I was able to dial out the overboost by backing off my Wastegate actuator arm, but then the wastegate stays partly open and I can't hit target boost. Honestly I don't think my WGDC are tuned very well close to the boost threshold. My problem is 4th gear pulls at 3500rpm I get the major boost spike. Boost onset at 4k+ rpm is normalish.

You going to run your tank of gas to almost empty, then refill?

What boost control are you using anyway? Maybe it's time to add an EWG

I thought he just did an EWG. Another member on the forum is currently having over boost issues after installing a map for a GS EBCS and the EBCS

Hi, ^^^^ 'Other member' here. Yeah just installed the XPT stage 2.5 map with the gmbcs and I've hit 25psi before backing off. I'm staying out of boost till I can get this sorted.

Ah, so just noticed you have the grimmspeed bcs, not general motors. But, still might be a similar issue so I'm staying subscribed.

It's not the BCS, but yeah similar issue. Do you have an IHI turbo? If you do, IIRC you can't adjust the wastegate actuator like the MHI... have to resort to springs.

I have already verified the vacuum plumbing, so it's not as simple for me, unfortunately.
