    Need some advice on a build.

    I have a 2011 wrx hatch, as of now it is straight piped intro duals with 3" pipe from the downpipe back. The car came with SPT Cat-back exhaust.

    I was wondering what would make better numbers with a tune, keeping it straight piped or putting the SPT exhaust back on. Any Help?

    How does you straight pipe look after the axle? Does it have dual exit? I had a shop do a axle back muffler delete on my hatch and it has a little bit of a whistle to it when I get in to boost. I hate it and would like to see how other peoples hatches are configured.

    Having the least exhaust flow restriction. In this case, straight-pipe.

    Personally, I would just opt for a regular 3" catback over the SP option.

    If you're looking for more power, the choice of catback shouldn't be your primary concern. I assume you're considering a protune? If so, you need a DP, EBCS, and new intercooler. A protune just won't be worth the money right now.

    Dual exit from a Y and yea you can hear the turbo whistle through the exhaust, I like it though.

    I don't know if you can see it but this is how mine looks. But sitting still it doesn't whistle. You can here the turbo some but not much but its when you get on it while your moving that is sounds like its spinning the tires that kind of whistle. I talked to some people and they say to get a sedan mid pipe and do a y before the rear axle and then the exhaust isn't restricted

    That's what need to do thanks. I was going to have them do it that way but I wanted to be able to bolt the stock muffler one if I needed

    yeah good point...I'm just waiting on an install day with my buddy Ricky...one of these weekends coming up haha.


    OP, that straight pipe looks good. I imagine it sounds similar to just throwing on the Nameless Axleback muffler deletes.
