Yeah, I have to confess I just stopped after page 4. It was just the same argument over and over at that point.

I went for a nice long drive today, only 80 miles left til 1000!

On the topic of Subaru camaraderie vs RSX isolation...
I had a few waves today from fellow Subaru drivers, and a couple other interesting encounters. At one point, I was driving down a small town main street coming up to a red light. There were two 10ish year old kids walking on the sidewalk. As I drove by, they actually stopped walking in order to stare at my car as I drove by. When I looked in my rear view to see them still looking, I laughed out loud. This really is a whole different world than the anonymous Acura wedge I used to drive.

I also got another wave towards the end of my drive, but not from a fellow rex driver. A man who was mowing his lawn happened to notice me coming down the road. He stopped mowing to wave at me. I have no idea why, didn't notice a scooby in his driveway.

Ahhhh...celebrity status of a bright blue, wide-body, hood scooped rumblemobile. It'll take some getting used to.

I have done a few nice hard pulls (that's what she said) in 2nd. My former suspicions are now confirmed. The RSX was at best a "quick" car. This is a "fast" car. It does, in fact, elicit a big S eating grin on my face. This weekend I should be taking my first real "fun" drive, hitting up some of those back roads in upper Buck's county.

Some phenomenal roads up there, especially getting up near New Hope. I did a good 2 hour fun run after a meet up there led by a local who worked at Fred Bean's Subaru at the time...needless to say, there was a "spirited" group and a "slow" group. I was with the Spirited group and I came back from it with my heart pounding. Such an adrenaline rush!

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. My buddy (who has a stage 2+ 2010 GTI) and I haven't done a good drive since probably October or so. We've got some favorite roads up there in them hills, and we usually bookend them with River Road although that can be extremely hit or miss. I'm expecting, with such nice weather this early in the season, that it will be "miss." All that really means is that we'll inevitably get stuck behind someone insisting on going 10 mph below the speed limit. It's still a nice scenic ride though, and those back roads are where the real fun can happen.

I'll be sure to take my camera.
