Not to hijack, but I can cannot express how awesome Eric @ TP was to work with. I have no comment on other tuners, as I haven't worked with them at all. I'm sure there are a lot of good ones out there - but Eric worked well with me. Just my opinion (worth right about $3.50).

So, the issue with the electrical gremlin hasn't been solved yet?

Nope. My sig has been altered to reflect reality.

However I don't see how that issue has anything to do with me going stage 1, and I amazingly have a few bucks to rub together right now.

Nope! I was a very infrequent poster on Tristate Tuners and ClubRSX, probably hadn't posted on either in several years. I spent most of my time on a small spinoff board from LS1 that I ended up as admin of, but that was a long time ago.

Ok! My non-build build thread finally has some modification news to impart!

It seems that my electrical gremlin is pacified (knock on wood) so I went ahead and ordered a stage 1 tune from Torqued Performance.

The flash itself was easy as pie. My datalogging efforts have been a little more difficult, as romraider seems to have trouble connecting to the ecu at times. Combinations of unplugging/replugging usb plugs and such, as well as with shutting down and restarting romraider, and I got it done. So far my car has responded well; no knock present and Eric from Torqued Performance has given a thumbs up. His target boost level is 18 psi, the original map was only hitting 16.9 peak. He sent me a revision which pulled it up to low/mid 17s. He just sent me a second revision that I haven't flashed yet, but it will not make much of a difference performance-wise, so I feel comfortable posting my review at this point.

There is a very noticeable difference between stock and stage 1, at least with this map (obviously I have no experience with Cobb, Perrin, etc). There is a smoother delivery, which I want to clarify. I read many reviews stating this, and as a result I think I expected that it would give more of a N/A feel. This is not the case. Light throttle still feels like an economy car, and there is a noticeable kick with the turbo does kick in. Lag is not really decreased, to my mind. However, there is more of a gradient when toying with the throttle. The best way I can think to describe is this: with the stock tune, it was more like an on/off switch. Either I was slow, or I was fast. There wasn't a huge difference between half, 3/4, and full throttle. Now I can toy with the throttle and truly get varying degrees of power. Finally, I experienced a hesitation or dip in the power delivery between 3k and 4k rpms on the stock map. That is gone.

As far as how much more power there is...Eric tells people to expect about 15% more hp and 20% more torque. I believe that. Butt dynos don't tend to do well at noticing small increases, but my butt has noticed a significant difference in power, hence my feeling that Eric's claims are honest. Half throttle now feels like the best the stock map had to offer. It isn't as noticeable doing a full logging pull from below 2500 rpms, but "normal" frisky driving really makes you feel it. I've described it to people by saying that I can now feel some g's pulling on my cheeks when I punch it in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd gear.

I am glad that I waited until I was well through the warranty (son of a...I've really driven 18k miles and the car is still not a year old!?). But I am also very glad that I have begun my modding, the car feels much much better to drive with this tune.

Next up is sways and endlinks, the body roll has to be dealt with. Probably will not be for a while though, at least until it is warmer out.

I would say do not get Whiteline sways and Kartboy endlinks combo. Fitment issues and idk how it happened but one of them got ****ed up. things could be different for your car though, i havent been under any of these 3rd Gens.

Edit: Sways and Endlinks are awesome though, just watch out with ^^^ combo. Im not the first person to have issues with it on here.
