They are the stock pillars cut to fit...then fiberglassed...then covered in leather that matched the dash.

Any fabric or craft shop should have it.

I definitely understand the back issues thing (l4-l5 disc removed 2 years ago). Knowing that, I completely understand. These stock seats are a killer. I guess I'm just too used to seeing people spend upwards of 2K for these and Brides for all the wrong reasons.

I would have loved the Recaros, too. Apparently, only my son got that option. :-) -

I hear you on the Brides thing.

My son will be getting that one too when he is old enough! Only a month right now...but he loves the car.

Awesome build man! I love the look of your car. I have just a few questions. A few pages back you took the roof rack off. I heard roof racks sometimes rub the paint which causes marks in the paint. did this happen to you? and how is the roof rack mounted on the car? is it easy to take off? I am wondering because i am planning on ordering a 2012 hatch within the next month or so and i am debating getting a roof rack. I ride BMX a lot and i dont know if it will be a hassle or not putting my bike in the back (folding the seats down of course. thanks

I have never really liked the light silver in the interior of the WRX. It doesn't seem to flow with the rest of the dark interior and it scratches incredibly easy. So...I started looking into ways I could paint or cover it to change things up a little bit.

I ended up using the 1080 Scotchptint carbon vinyl from 3M. It is easier to work with than Di-Noc and the finish looks better in my opinion. I just did the JDM radio bezel and center console. I'll probably start there as I don't want to over do it...

First I want to say your car looks awesome so far and the more and more I see the hatches the more I like them kinda wishing I took a look a one but thats besides the point. I was wondering if you had a link from where you got the 3m carbon fiber from. I found a few different places online so was just curious. Did you install the 3m? How hard was it if so, and would you have any tips for someone else trying it. Thanks man.

you can get 3m carbon fiber wrap anywhere online. Make sure you get the 3M because a lot of people sell the worse quality carbon fiber wrap for cheaper. I would just get it on eBay is your best bet
