Congrats on the new car! I absolutely love mine. The utility of the wagon, simplicity of the engine and sporty ride make it the best car I've owned. Have fun with it.

In case you haven't heard, the stock uppipe has been known to break apart and send material through the turbo. You will want to either replace it with an aftermarket catless unit or gut a stock unit. I did the former and it's been a great mod so far. Slightly quicker and earlier spool time and about 5-10 wheel hp gain for only $180. Also it's good to know that the transmissions in the '02 and '03 model WRXs are known to be rather weak. Drive it with respect and you'll be fine, but rev it up and drop the clutch from a dead stop an you may be searching the classifieds for a replacement used transmission. Just a couple quick thoughts.
A new Up Pipe is on the way, I bought a ton of stuff this weekend and hopefully ill have it by the weekend and it'll be installed by saturday night!

Looks like you spent a little money. That's always fun to go on a shopping spree. Good luck with the installations!

Those are pretty much all things I want to do but need to save up for. I've had mine since April 2010 and have only installed a K&N drop-in filter, excedy clutch, ACT Streetlite flywheel and pressure plate, and GrimmSpeed uppipe. Just a little jealous that you bought all those fun parts immediately after purchasing the car. Haha.

You sold a numbers matching 64 Impala to put money into a WRX? Sad, but I understand. I have a 1968 Cougar with a custom 331ci stroker motor and lots of other fun stuff. It sits in my garage most of the time and I haven't put any time into it in a few years since breaking the transmission drag racing at the track. About 5 years ago the thought to sell it crossed my mind but only for a second. Now that I'm married, my wife will never let me sell it. She loves the muscle car look and sound too much. I don't plan to sell it but life sometimes comes up.

Have fun with the new car. As I said, they are really great cars and perfect for the Seattle weather with rain and wet snow. I just got back from Phoenix and there are hardly any WRX/STi's down there. Probably saw less than 10 in the 7 days I was there. I see that on my drive to work every morning. It's good to be back around so many fun cars.

Well there is more to it than selling to work on my wrx, I'm moving into a new house with no garage space so I'd be leaving her outside so for the good of the car I sold it. It has no rust on it at all and I'd rather sell it and keep it perfect than keep it and let it go out to pasture. Being able to project on the subaru is just a bonus of selling. It was a sad day but it went to a car nut so I'm happy
