Well I painted the brake calipers last week and I think they turned out great. I scuffed them up real good by wet sanding them with some emery cloth until they turned a light gray color and there was no shinny spots. Then cleaned them with Dupli Color caliper cleaner, and sprayed two light coats and one medium coat of Dupli Color red caliper paint. Then I bought some white Brembo stickers off ebay and placed them on the calipers the next day.

I don't understand your method to your caliper painting. They are un-mounted, so why paint so close to the car where you have to worry covering the car?

    Also....

Have you ever driven your car? It seems like you are always taking it apart!

As always, your work looks awesome.

I didn't remove the brake lines I just unbolted the caliper, took all the pads out, unbolted the brake hose bracket and pulled the caliper out as far as I could from the car. Oh yeah I have driven the car because it just turned a year old and I just rolled 30k miles on the clock

wow 30k in a year is insane! It'd be time to give your leased vehicle back already.

Yeah I drive a long way back and forth to work but I only drive half the time. The other guy that I ride to work with has a 93 Accord with 400k miles.

How far is your commute? Mine is 70 miles round trip and I don't drive 30,000 in a year.

My round trip commute to work is about 130 miles. I also make a 80 mile round trip to my brothers motorcycle shop and work there on some of my off days.

My daily commute is 80 miles (40 each way). On top of whatever weekend driving I do, I clock about 25K per year. My '11 will hit 40K miles in the next 2 months (I got it October 6th, 2010).

    Looks great!!

Couple questions about your wheels if you dont mind.

    1. 38 is your offset?
    2. What tire size are you using with the x9.5s?
    3. Are you stretched and rubbing?

Im still on the fence about a wheel set up and want to run the most functional, aggressive offset i can without rubbing and stretching after a drop. If you have the time, can you take a close up picture of the wheel in relation to the fender/qpannel? Thanks awfully!!

    1. Yes
    2. 245/40/18 (stock)
    3. Yes the 245 is a little stretch for a 9.5" wheel but I am getting some 255 or 265 later. No I am not rubbing but I already rolled the rear fender when I had my last set of wheels on the car.

If you want a really nice look, be flush with the fender and have the most tire I would say to go with a 18x9.5" 44 offset with some 265/30/18. I had this set up with my 08 STi and only had to do a minor fender roll in the back and it looked great. I think I will have to roll the rear some more and I might have to pull the front fender with the 18x9.5" 38 offset I have now when I get the new tires (265/30/18)
