While driving back from Indianapolis to Las Vegas the rear strut noise I had became worse and I also started to get a bearing type noise that I thought was the right rear upright. I decided to take a look at everything and ended up stripping out the uprights and have them powder coated and also repainted the c.v joint housings and stripped and regreased the rear struts and fitted the STI strut mounts which are a harder rubber.
I also have new plastic fender liners and all the misc plastic pieces have been replaced in the wheel wells. here are some of the pics of the project so far

Yeah, you weren't kidding when you said OCD.
Looking good though, very cool.

Good news, everyone!
thanks, once is started looking at things the project just kept getting bigger, I am making tools to press the bearings into the rear uprights and have some more paint comming and once its painted in the wheel wells it will be going back together. I will post some more pics as I go!
i like your garage floor
The floor is one of the kits you buy from home depot etc, it is my inlaws place. I used to have a nice garage in Indiana, we owned that house for eight years so I had the garage all set up how I wanted it. when we settle down in one place again I will do something hopefully better than this.. also another one of my projects in the picture a 94 Lola Indycar
Today I recieved the factory paint to spray the wheel wells and have the tools in hand to assemble the rear uprights which I made based on drawings of the tooling in the factory manual. I then measured the uprights and the bearings and the hub to get dimensions to make the tools. I will post some more pictures soon of those tools but I am really looking forward to getting a lot done tomorrow.
