Sure it's true. If you find a place that works, and you buy stuff a lot, you stick with it. If that were the case, crutchfield would be out of business, and I use them a lot. A lot of other people do too.
I can think of about 10 different stores/online vendors I'll gladly pay a little more for cause they're dependable, honest, helpful, etc.
